The Sky Opened Wide Like The Tide

1/365

Happy New Year. Holidays bug me because they make everyone ask the same questions. How was your holiday? What did you do? And the reaction is the same from everyone when you answer with “okay” and “nothing”. I have hermit problems.

I’ve got resolutions this year! Kind of. My list is a mix of long term “to do’s” and projects. Usually I avoid this kind of thing, but 2009 was stagnant. I had no expectations and ended up with no accomplishments of note, no change.

  • 52 crafts (one a week, even if it is small and easy or cheezy).
  • Lose weight (187 today. Unacceptable. Shooting for something in the “normal” range).
  • Stop sleeping away my days off. Get out of the house.
  • Pay off credit cards. That will leave one debt account. I’m ok with that.
  • Liquidate possesions. No more clutter.
  • Spend less time online. I love you internets, but my ass will not de-fatten itself.
  • Learn Spanish, or at least as much as kids in school learn.
  • Be ready to be on my own in 2011.
  • Be happy.

.
A lot of them are projects people of the internet do, I know it.  I have other resolutions, but they aren’t absolutes, just changes to make in my life so it will suck less. Do the little things before they become big things. This is the first time in a long time that I’ve been truly optimistic.

Bare Legs In A Storm

Packed my things, looked at houses, and haven’t moved. I’m living in limbo and it blows. No photos because I packed my charger (thinking the move was closer than it is).

Since everything is on hold until the housing situation is taken care of, the only things I’ve been working on are computer related. Windows 7 is awesome. I upgraded and passed Vista right over like it never existed. I’ve had a few crashes, but that is only because my hardware is almost 4 years old and supported only through hacked drivers. The adamo is looking really nice right now.

Changed the theme. Can I live without a sidebar? I think I can.

don’t stand so close to me

expired cuttings

my garden is doing not-well. celosia is all gone. zinnias are falling over, but flowering. and i am further discouraged from putting any effort into reviving it by weather and possible foreclosure of the rental we live in. i can’t protect containers from the weather. i shouldn’t put what little money i have into something that could be taken from me at any moment. despite this, i’m starting a new seed tray. i have a month to figure it out. nothing is going well, not really.

i want a new camera. i want.

live tomorrow

re-reading yesterdays thought dump was depressing. the month is half gone, cut the shit. i got it, self. so i got to work on my september project: bathroom renovation.

bathroom before

formerly white and incredibly dirty (i share with 3 other people). the contrast from my bedroom, going in there made me feel i moved into a place of squalor. as much as i tried to will it, it wasn’t going to change itself. once i got started, it took me no time at to get the roller work done. it is a little garish, but it will grow on me. and everyone else doesn’t matter.

bathroom after

touch ups later. door and trim, plus the cabinet are to be white, and that is also later. pops says he will install ceiling tile when i finish up painting, yay!
